to watch a film on edward theatre in edward theatre - pretty special.
never mind the film, but to see the screen light up with a shot of the audience felt like we were entering alice's world. the film does not sustain the feeling but the audience did. most were the staff of the theatre, and their families. Loud clapping synced with the entry of each 'character'.

when we were in college, tickets at this theatre,a five minute walk away, was ten to twelve rupees. today it is 17 rupees. with ornate balconies, the exclusive dress circle has the cheapest tickets because you watch the film looking down, beyond your feet (almost!). A periscope might work well.

but i am a sucker for the nostalgia suffused in places like these.
