Pinking through pink

With fairies and angels, and all things pink and barbie at every turn,

I make a valiant effort to make mamma monster hip, happening and cool.

Mamma monster tickles, bites, makes deep growling sounds and does not let a sleepy child sleep.*
There is a momma angel too- but all she does is sing in a nasal, high pitched drone and keeps her eyes half closed all the time. Mamma angel should get a pink veil and manipulate a little girl's distaste for pretty and pink. ( It might take a very very long time given that 87% of clothes in the market for little girls are in pink. So even if i seek out the sunny yellows and the devilish greens, all her friends are clad in pasty pink. At the moment the child has a distaste for her wardrobe and mamma's tastes, but we will muddle our way through this.)

Monster momma's workshop is busy at the moment. A birthday gift gets readied- a little cupboard exclusively for the child, painted yellow me thinks, with little black monster feet designs on the door.

*Mamma monster absolutely adores fart jokes

a pink past: here, and here. Her pink imagination: here

ask the Momma Angel to look Mamma Monsterly and tell the child that yellow is the new pink ...

a little cupboard is the perfect gift: whose idea was it? I'm guessing Momma Angel?

Since Mamma Monster is too busy giggling over jokes that involve embarrassing sounds

Dipali, MiM : this momma has some good ideas knocking around in her head. making sure they materialise is where the devil takes over.
Spacebar: pink on beautious spacebar is good. pink on every bit of plastic in the house, not so much.

I don't get this anti-pink thing. Pink is good. And yes, I had fifty billion Barbies and made them clothes and furniture. :)

Sue: making them clothes and furniture? thats when i wont mind the barbies or the pink. but you go to the shops and all you see is everything made- the clothes, the furniture- and all are plastic and pink!

Yes, but don't blame the pink. Pinks are good. And Barbies taught me to make stuff and sew. And knit a little too!

sue: ok ok, will stop my persecution of pink. but only because i know Spacebar looks gorgeous in pink. and can imagine the same for you!

Er, in all fairness, pink is not really my colour. But I don't let that stop me from wearing it. Just be grateful I'm over my hot pink phase!
